Most
customers require one of our standard systems. They represent
great value for money and are carefully selected in order to balance
cost with performance. There
are three main components to a system...
Solar
Collector
This vacuum tube (evacuated tube) solar collector can deliver
up to 7 kW heat energy per day in the summer. That's 150 litres
of hot water a day.
Unlike flat-plate collectors,
vacuum-tube collectors retain most of their efficiency in low
temperatures and consequently work better in northern European
climates like ours.
Solar Cylinder
A twin coil hot water cylinder with 160 litre capacity. This provides
a similar amount of hot water as a conventional 120 litre single
coil hot water cylinder.
Solar heated water circulates
through the bottom coil, with the top coil used for topping up
the heat using your existing gas or oil fired boiler.
The cylinder is lagged
with twice the normal thickness of foam insulation (50mm insulation
thickness).
Tall and thin cylinders
are ideal for solar heating applications because temperature gradients
within the tank (stratification) optimise efficient transfer of
the sun's energy.
Solar Controller
The
Solar controller is the brains of the system and this controller
has the best brains in the business. It switches on the circulation
pump to harvest the sun's energy at every opportunity. There's
even a solar hour counter, so that you can monitor the total time
the system spends adding free heat. We
can also supply an optional "heat dump pack" to restrict
the maximum temperature in the hot water cylinder - Useful if
there are elderly or young living in the home, or if you go away
on holiday.
The pump, all pipework,
valves and devices that connect everything together and ensure
the system works reliably year after year.
All our systems include
pressure, temperature and flow instrumentation so that the homeowner
can easily see if the system is functioning properly.
Our
standard solar systems also carry...
- A 1 year system warranty
- A 5 year tube warranty
If we carry out a survey at your home, our representative
will be pleased to provide more detail about our standard systems
and explain why one could be exactly the solar water heating system
you're looking for.
Why not give us a call for your free no-obligation
survey. It will normally take just 45 minutes to an hour and if
you decide that one of our systems is right for your home - whether
for environmental reasons, saving money on your utility bills
or simply to enhance your property - our representative can arrange
a provisional date for your installation right away.
